Today, I give you this complete pile of sexist shit from OSU's very own student newspaper, the Barometer.
And, the e-mail I sent to the editors in response. I advise you to e-mail editor@dailybarometer.com and news@dailybarometer.com with your thoughts. My e-mail is not all that articulate, but I don't have time to waste on this right now. It takes time to be articulate when I'm this angry.

Katy, Lauren, Candice, and Gail,
I'm trying my best to refrain from just going off right now, just snapping at the keyboard. I cannot for the life of me understand why you allowed Cameron Anderson's column to run yesterday. It is wholly offensive to not just women, but men and every single one of your readers.
There are responsibilities that come with being editors. Forget whatever notions of "free speech" may have prompted you to publish this column, you DO assume the role of publisher here; you have given this man, this child, a voice in the Barometer. Make no doubt about it, your decision to publish this article is a small step backward for women and for men. It's that simple.
He's not even a student. I was editor in chief as an undergrad in Michigan, and we would never, never allow someone who is not a student to write a guest column, especially of that nature (although I can envision a situation where a community professional has something beneficial to say for our readers).
Unbelievable. Is it a test? Surely you knew people would be pissed off about this column. Is this your way to prove a point? Do you plan to simply throw columns on the page like this and then run letters to the editor blasting this fucking moron?
Wait, are one of you dating him? Trying to? Is he a half-brother or something?
You know what? I'll volunteer my services. You clearly need some advice from time to time. If something like this comes up (uh, should we run a sexist piece of shit?), send me an e-mail and I'll advise you as if you were a high school newspaper (I have two years of experience). Your judgment in this situation was not merely poor, but harmful.
Wishing you sound judgment in the future,

You're fucking ridiculous man. Lighten up. Don't you have anything better to do than internet bullying?
I had an identical reaction after reading this article, Travis. It was unbelievably sexist. Absolutely unacceptable.
And to the Anonymous, I normally give the "everyone loses" speech for fighting on the internet, but for the record this blog is intended to express the personal ideas and opinions of its owner...which happens to be Travis, not you. If you happen to disagree with Travis, then go start your own blog, and title your first post "Why I disagree with Travis" instead of hiding behind an Anonymous heading.
Most of all, don't become a victim of ignorance and close-mindedness.
John
Hey thanks for having my back, John, but no worries -- I almost enjoy a little silly anonymous hate post like that. "Lightening up" on matters of civil rights, social justice, sexism, racism, equality, and so on, is not something I think any of us need to do. And if sending a concerned e-mail to the student newspaper that my fees help to fund is considered internet bullying, well, guess I'm the bad guy on the block. (Neither my e-mail or this anonymous post qualifies as internet bullying, in my mind.)
